The 2011 women’s lacrosse team became the first ever national champion in the history of Indiana Tech when they won the National Women’s Lacrosse League (NWLL) National Tournament and finished 15-4 in just their second season as a varsity program. Led by head coach Ed Karasek, the Warriors had four players, Kendall (Guthrie) Wetzel, Autumn (McMillin) Moore, Chelsea (Olson) Pitsos and Holly Holod, garner NWLL All-American honors during the historic season. The NWLL was the first governing organization for women’s lacrosse programs in the NAIA, existing from 2010 until 2016, when the sport earned invitational status from the NAIA.
