Indiana Tech’s 2024 Hall of Fame Class Announced

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Indiana Tech Department of Athletics will be inducting four individuals, Kendall Guthrie, Dylan Johnston, Ulyssia Richmond, and Kirsta Solberg, and the 2009 women's volleyball team, into its Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 5th, during Homecoming Weekend.

Hall of Fame Inductees
Dylan Johnston MLAX 2010-13

Dylan Johnston played on the Indiana Tech Men’s Lacrosse team from 2010 to 2013. He was a part of the men’s lacrosse team’s inaugural season as a program at Tech and helped take them to the MCLA DII National Tournament Quarterfinals by his senior year. He still holds top ten records at Tech in single season ground balls (#7 – 81), career ground balls (#5 – 171), and career games played (#2 – 62). Johnston would finish his career with 62 games played, 171 ground balls, 27 goals, and 15 assists. Before the WHAC added lacrosse as a sport in 2013, the Warriors would compete in the CCLA/MCLA where Johnston would earn Honorable Mention All-American and Third Team All-Conference honors. In 2013, he would earn First Team All-Conference, First Team All-American, and Defensive Player of the Year, while also earning WHAC All-Conference, WHAC All-Academic, and WHAC Champions of Character Team honors.

Ulyssia Richmond WBB 2010-14

Ulyssia Richmond played on the Indiana Tech Women’s Basketball team from 2010-11 to 2013-14. During her junior season, Richmond would join the 1,000-point club in a game against Aquinas on January 26th, 2013. Over her four years at Tech, she would total 1,595 points, 390 rebounds, 162 assists, and 85 steals, playing in 123 total games in her career and starting 97 of them. Richmond would make the WHAC All-Newcomer Team in her freshman season, while also earning WHAC First Team All-Conference and WHAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors her junior and senior seasons.

Krista Solberg (WVB HC 07-11)

Kirsta Solberg coached the Indiana Tech Women’s Volleyball team from 2007 to 2011, amassing a record of 160-49 and a .766-win percentage. Solberg led the Warriors to 4 straight WHAC Regular Season Championships and NAIA National Championship appearances from 2008 to 2011 as well as 3 straight WHAC Tournament Championships from 2009 to 2011. She coached players to NAIA All-American status 4 times and 3 more as honorable mentions. Over her time at Tech, Solberg also coached 15 WHAC First Team All-Conference Selections, 1 Second Team All-Conference Selection, 4 All-Conference Honorable Mention, 1 All-Freshman Team Selection, and 32 All-Academic Team Members. Under her guidance, Tech would have a 2-time WHAC Player of the Year, a WHAC Setter of the Year, a WHAC Libero of the Year, and a WHAC Freshman of the Year. Kirsta Solberg was named the WHAC Champions of Character Coach of the Year in her first season with Tech in 2007 and then won 4 straight WHAC Coach of the Year Awards from 2008 to 2011.

2009 WVB Team

The 2009 Women’s Volleyball Team finished the season with a 34-11 overall record, going 14-0 in WHAC play on their way to their second of four straight WHAC regular season championships. The Warriors would also win the first ever WHAC Tournament Championship in program history in 2009 in the first of three straight tournament titles. Tech would finish the season in the NAIA National Championships Final 12 after winning their opening round game and going 2-1 in pool play to advance into single elimination part of the tournament. There would be 2 All-Americans on the 2009 team in Ashley Hamilton and Erika Stouder. Coach Kirsta Solberg would be named WHAC Coach of the Year, while 5 Warriors would earn All-Conference selections. Ashley Hamilton would also be named WHAC Player of the Year and make the NAIA All-Tournament Team.

Kendall Guthrie WLAX 2011-14

Kendall Guthrie will be inducted with the Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
