Alexander Kluchki is entering his fourth full season as the head cross country coach at Indiana Tech heading into the 2024 season. Kluchki, who also serves as an assistant coach on the track and field teams, was hired following a national search in February, 2021.
In his first three seasons leading the men's and women's cross country teams, he has coached three All-WHAC selection, one WHAC Newcomer-of-the-Year winner, 11 WHAC All-Academic Team members, ten NAIA Scholar-Athletes, and one USTFCCCA All-Academic Team member on the men's side and eight All-WHAC selections, 16 WHAC All-Academic Team members, three NAIA All-Americans, ten NAIA Scholar-Athletes, and four USTFCCCA All-Academic Team members on the women's side.
Last season, Kluchki led Tech to a third place finish in the WHAC Championships on the women’s side and a fourth place finish on the men’s side. Lisa Voyles and McKenna Palmer would represent the Warriors at the NAIA National Championships in Vancouver, Washington, where Voyles became Tech’s first three-time cross country All-American! The women's side would finish the season with two All-WHAC selections, six WHAC All-Academic Team members, one NAIA All-American, and four NAIA Scholar-Athletes, while the men's side had four WHAC All-Academic Team members, and three NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
In 2022, Kluchki led the Warrior women's cross country team to a second place finish at the WHAC Championships, while leading the men to a fourth place finish. He also led the women to an 18th place team finish at the NAIA National Championships, the third best finish in program history and best since 2008. Kluchki coached Lisa Voyles on her way to back to back All-American status, making her the first repeat All-American in program history.
In his first year at Tech (2021), Kluchki saw the Warrior women's cross country team qualify for the national meet for the first time since 2018. Their 20th place finish was the best for Tech since 2013. He led the women to a third place finish at the WHAC Championships and the men to a fourth place finish. Kluchki helped Lisa Voyles become the fourth All-American in Tech women's cross country history. On the track side, Kluchki also coached Voyles to individual national championships in the indoor 1000m and the outdoor 800m. The women's distance medley team also capture a national title at the indoor national championship meet in Brookings, South Dakota.
Prior to Indiana Tech, Kluchki was at NAIA competitor University of the Cumberlands, where he served as the head cross country coach and assistant track & field coach since 2016. While there he has coached one national champion, 14 All-Americans between, 40 National Qualifiers and 50 All-Conference Honorees. Kluchki's other coaching experience consists of one year at Tennessee Wesleyan as the interim head cross country and track & field coach.
Kluchki earned a Master's Degree in Health and Human Performance while at the University of the Cumberlands and graduated from Lewis University in May 2014 with a Bachelor's in Sports Management with a minor in Psychology.
