FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Indiana Tech had four Warriors earn conference player of the week honors this week.
Kaden Salts and
Jillian Treska swept the WHAC Bowling awards after leading their teams to first-place finishes this week.
Rose Kaplan was named Mid-South Women's Wrestler of the Week, while
Jaidyn Gulley was named WHAC WBB Defensive Player of the Week.
Salts and Treska earn the men's and women's bowling honors after helping Tech take first place at the AHBA #3 event this past weekend. Salts finished the event in first place with a score of 925 in four games, averaging 231.25. Treska finished the event tied for second, knocking down 735 pins in her four games, averaging 183.75.
Kaplan earns the MSC Wrestler of the Week honor after a dominant week in which she went 6-0. Kaplan kicked off the week with a pair of dual wins, including a pin and a 10-4 decision over the No. 10-ranked wrestler in her weight class. She would also go 4-0 to win the 124lb weight class at the Blue Hose Challenge, winning with two pins, one tech fall, and a decision. Kaplan would take down the No. 10-ranked wrestler for the second time in as many days in the semifinal match, before defeating the NCAA No. 4-ranked wrestler in the final with a 3-0 decision.
Gulley earns the WHAC Defensive Player of the Week honor after helping the Warriors to a 1-1 record on the week, including a win over No. 10-ranked IWU. She'd end the week with 17 rebounds, 10 of which were defensive, four steals, and one block. Offensively, she averaged 6.5 points in the two games, adding three assists.
