Coach Ross enters his second year as the head coach of the Indiana Tech women’s hockey program for the 2025-26 season, after joining Tech on July 22, 2024 as the second head coach in program history.
Last season, Ross led the Warriors to a 20-12-2 overall record and 9-5-0 record in CCWHA play. In the conference tournament, Tech would fall in the second round in a 1-0 six overtime thriller to #8 ranked Michigan-Dearborn. At the ACHA National Championship, Tech would bow out of the tournament in pool play after losing to #4 Midland and #5 Minot State. Three Warriors would earn CCWHA All-Conference team honors, while Sylvie Legault would make both the CCWHA and ACHA All-Rookie teams.
“We are excited to welcome Coach Ross to the Indiana Tech community. Their passion and commitment to women’s hockey and bettering young adults will be a great fit for our program,” Director of Athletics Jessie Biggs said.
Ross has accumulated valuable experience from both the sidelines and on the ice over the years, as he now gets set to lead the Warriors in their fourth year of competition (2024-25).
“First, I want to thank Jessie Biggs, David Bokhart, and the rest of the hiring team and athletics staff for giving me the opportunity to take the reins of such a talented program,” said Ross. “I am excited to put my roots down in Fort Wayne and step into the Warrior Ice Hockey Family.”
Prior to Indiana Tech, Ross coached the last two seasons as a graduate assistant at NCAA D1 school, Franklin Pierce University in the New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA). While there, he helped lead the team to wins over three of the other four NCAA DI conferences (Holy Cross-Hockey East, Union/Dartmouth-ECAC, St. Thomas-WCHA) and also helped the team reach the league semifinals in their first year and the finals in year two. In addition to coaching at Franklin Pierce, Ross earned his master’s degree in educational leadership as well.
On the ice, Ross has been playing hockey since the age of four, winning several tournament championships and awards throughout his youth. More recently, he played a four-year collegiate career at the College of the Holy Cross (Hockey East, NCAA DI) from 2018-2022, culminating in 96 games played, 4 goals, 7 assists, and 11 points. His first collegiate goal was the first ever Hockey East Home goal for the Crusaders in a 5-1 loss to Boston College. He was a part of the program's first-ever wins against Northeastern (2018), Vermont (2020), Merrimack (2019), Maine (2020), UNH (2020), and Boston University (2021) and was also a two-time Hockey East All-Academic team member.
A native of Cumming, Georgia, Ross graduated in 2022 from the College of the Holy Cross with a bachelor's degree in studio art and in 2024 from Franklin Pierce University with a master's of education in educational leadership.
