GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Indiana Tech women's track and field team had eight more individuals and one relay team earn All-American status while taking fourth at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium and Sports Complex on Saturday.
Laura Condron got the day going by concluding her Warriors career with an All-American finish in the 3,000m Steeplechase where she was eighth with a time of 11:08.12.
The 4x100m relay team of
Patricia Thompson,
Shayla France,
Jewel Thomas and
Brianna Woods took second in 45.50 while France and
Andrea Ford took the second and fifth podium positions in the 100m hurdles. France's time of 13.69 is the third fastest in school history while Ford finished in 14.18.
Thomas and Thompson also earned All-American status in the 100m and 200m with the latter finishing third in the 100m with the eighth fastest time in program history at 11.65 while Thompson was seventh in 11.90. In the 200m, Thomas was sixth in 24.47 with Thompson taking seventh in 24.54.
In the Warriors second to last race of the day, the women's 800m,
Cherie Gaines broke the school record for the second straight day, taking sixth in the 800m with a time of 2:09.38.
Overall, the women had 10 All-Americans at the 2015 outdoor championships including one national champion;
Carly Schmidt in the pole vault.
