Expectations for Athletic Department Internships:

  • Currently enrolled at Indiana Tech and in good standing
  • A desire to gain experience in a Collegiate Athletic Department
  • Good written, verbal communication, and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and problem solve in a fast-paced environment

Summary
A successful candidate(s) will work closely with the Assistant Athletic Director and have various responsibilities related to the day-to-day management of athletic events and supporting game-day operations for all athletic competitions, practices, and special events.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the coordination and the pre-event communication of officials, game day staff, visiting teams
  • Enter facility maintenance work orders for all various athletic facilities
  • Assist Director with the overseeing of tickets, concessions, and merchandise at games and events
  • Setup and breakdown of home athletic competitions and special events
  • Monitor facilities to make sure they are game-ready at all times
  • Make sure all facets of game operations are running smoothly and student staff is in place
  • Meet and greet officials, opposing team, and event staff
  • Train staff on the importance of hospitality and service
  • Other duties as assigned by need and desired learning outcomes
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Business Management, Organizational Leadership or Sport Management Major (or related field)
  • Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, and over academic breaks
  • Working knowledge of college sports
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 25 pounds and work outside in extreme weather conditions
  • Organize, direct, coordinate, evaluate, and schedule student workers who are your peers
  • Must be organized and detailed oriented

Summary
A successful candidate(s) will work with the sports information department and coaches to create high-quality graphics. Interns will be given projects each day they report to the office. Projects may include, but are not limited to, game day graphics, award nominations, career milestones, marketing events.
 
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create original designs in line with the IT Athletics style guide.
  • Assist in the design and production of graphics for social media, website, email marketing, digital advertising, print materials, in-venue displays, and events.
  • Collaborate with athletics staff to ensure consistent visual storytelling.
  • Receive feedback from the sports information team and make necessary changes.
  • Participate in brainstorming and creative planning sessions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, sports design aesthetics, and digital media innovations.
  • Assist with game day creative needs, as assigned.
  • Help maintain storage of all creative assets.
  • Collaborate with coaches, student-athletes, and other staff.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • A portfolio of self-created graphic design work.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects)
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first attitude.
  • Passion for sports and enthusiasm for creative storytelling.
  • Be willing to accept or be open to feedback and critique related to design projects.
  • Desire to pursue a career in the field of sports media.
  • Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, and over academic breaks

Summary
A successful candidate(s) will work closely with the Director of Sports Information and assist with the different facets of an promoting the Indiana Tech Athletic Department. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help at home athletic events including broadcasting, statistical inputting, scoreboard, and video board operator
  • Ability to photograph events if needed
  • Generate social media content, infographics, game-day programs, and videos to promote Indiana Tech Athletics and its teams
  • Assist with camera operation to live stream all home contests
  • Support general office work, website updates, archiving videos, and photos
  • Perform other duties as assigned by sports information staff
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of college sports
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite, social media platforms
  • Strong written or oral communication skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, and over academic breaks
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 25 pounds and work outside in extreme weather conditions

Summary
A successful candidate(s) will work closely with the Associate Athletic Director to develop and implement promotional activities at Indiana Tech Athletic events for students and engage with on-campus and community partners.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning and implementing the promotions and game day activities for all sports
  • Coordinate with various areas of the department before and during events to ensure proper set-up for promotional activities and game day events
  • Work closely with sports information staff to promote upcoming events within the campus community and on social media
  • Attend scheduled  intern staff meetings, intern brainstorm meetings and intern development events.
  • Assist in the development of full-scale fan experience plans for sports as needed.
  • Assist with managing public address announcers, coordinating music, video board elements, cheer squad, pep band, and other fan experience needs to direct the flow of games, events and promotions as needed.
  • Improve the atmosphere at each event by utilizing games, giveaways, contests, trivia, music, etc.
  • Work select special events
  • CONTINUE TO ENHANCE THE FAN EXPERIENCE AT ALL WARRIOR EVENTS
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Marketing, Communications, or Sport Communication Major (or related field)
  • Potential to serve as an intern for more than one year
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is preferred
  • Working knowledge of collegiate sports
  • Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, and over academic breaks
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 25 pounds and work outside in extreme weather conditions

Summary
Our internship program aims to develop young professionals in the area of Strength and Conditioning. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. The internship may fulfill course credit if necessary. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, attending to daily maintenance of the training facilities, and professional development throughout internship program. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Upperclassman status in exercise science or related field
  • Must be personable and be able to speak in front of large groups
  • Must be an assertive and effective verbal communicator
  • Must be available to devote time to be at the facility working with athletes or on continuing education
  • Needs the ability to follow instructions with a strong attention to detail, a strong work ethic
  • Must be highly motivated to learn and do what is asked of them - an open mind to various training paradigms and thought processes is a must
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 50 pounds and work outside in extreme weather conditions
