NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Indiana Tech women's indoor track team traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, and Angola, Indiana, over the weekend to compete in the Commodore Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt University and the Sean Brady Alumni Opener hosted by Trine University.
At the Commodore Challenge, the Warriors had six runners finish in the top ten of their events.
Jamaya Warthen finished fifth in the 200m dash clocking a time of 25.13.
Jo'Deci Irby ran a 1:36.77 in the 600 meter to finish tenth.
Krista Boese finished at No. 7 in the 800 meter, posting a time of 2:20.41.
Lisa Voyles won the 1000-meter event, finishing with a time of 2:50.71 while also finishing third in the 1 mile, where she broke the school record with a time of 4:50.74. Voyles time surpasses Alissa McKaig's time of 4:54.90, which had been the school record since 2008.
In the 60-meter hurdles,
Kiya Pogue finished fourth for the Warriors crossing the line in 8.51 seconds, followed closely by
Katlyn Jones, who finished sixth with a time of 8.64.
At Trine,
Maeve Milligan finished atop the field in Pole Vault with a mark of 3.27m.
Carlie Turner jumped 5.53m in Long Jump to finish first in the event, while
Denise Turpin and Jaunita Webster-Freeman finished third and fourth with marks of 5.39m and 5.33m. Turpin finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.62m. Jaunita Webster-Freeman won the Shot Put, throwing 13.39m.
