FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Competing in her first official pentathlon at Indiana Tech,
Juanita Webster-Freeman did not disappoint. The California native traveled to the University of Illinois on Friday to compete in a strong field of NCAA Division I multi's and came away with an NAIA "A" standard in a school record total of 3936 points. Her mark broke the Indiana Tech standard set in 2021 by Leondra Correia (3743) in a national championship winning performance.
Webster-Freeman got out to a great start in the 60 hurdles, finishing second in a strong time of 8.75. Other highlights included a 1.65m high jump, 13.26m shot put, and a solid time of 2:23.76 in the 800. No stranger to competing at high levels, Webster-Freeman is a national champion in the indoor high jump and finished 8th at the US Olympic Trials in the heptathlon in 2021.
While Webster-Freeman competed at Illinois, the rest of the team took on another strong field at the Bill Clinger Classic at Grand Valley State in Allendale, Michigan.
In the distance events,
Krista Boese secured a "B" standard in the mile and moved to #4 on the all-time list with a time of 5:05.93.
Isaac Sytsma matched Boese's #4 all-time mark on the men's side with a 4:18.22.
The sprints saw Indiana Tech well represented among larger NCAA Division I and II teams.
Jamaya Warthen (2nd),
Soyinne Grenyion (3rd), and
Kiya Pogue (4th) drew attention in a dominating performance in the 60 meters.
Katlyn Jones and

Miles Gray earned gold in the 400 with a season-best time of 48.46. He was one of three Warriors (Braden Crosby and
