FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Deneara Mbouge tied her own school record, Evelyn Dolce set a freshman record and Derica Gibson secured a pair of standards to lead Indiana Tech to a sensational Saturday afternoon at the Mastodon Opener at Purdue-Fort Wayne.

Deneara Mbouge finished second in the weight throw in 16.21 to not only tie the school record she set last season, but secure an NAIA "B" standard.

Evelyn Dolce had a tremendous Indiana Tech debut, punching her ticket to nationals with an "A" standard and setting a Tech freshman record at 3.67m in the pole vault.  She moved to #3 on the all-time list in the indoor pole vault.

Derica Gibson enjoyed a strong return to the track, capturing an "A" standard in the 200m (24.74) and a "B" in the 60m (7.72).

Additional Highlights:

• Indiana Tech goes 1-2-3 in the men's high jump at the Mastodon Opener. McKale Hood (1.94m), Tayvahr Wright (1.94m), and Jackie Saye (1.91m) lead the way.
• Davarri Barthell (6.89) and Darian Long (6.94) with huge freshman debuts in the 60m. Both are all-time top 25 marks in the event! Tyler Dixon also dips under 7 seconds in 6.98.
• Amya Carr finishes 2nd in the high jump in her Indiana Tech debut at 1.51m.
• Joe Mitchell runs to a big PR in the 60h semis (8.36). Jackie Saye is 2nd in 8.53. In the final, Saye gets the win in 8.44 after Mitchell is DQ'd.
• Junae Bennett (59.60) and Jonathan Hairston (51.21) each win the 400m.
• Tyler Dixon takes the 200m at the Mastodon Opener in 22.35.
• Davarri Barthell wins the long jump in 7.06m (23'2"), a mark that suprasses the NAIA "B" standard.
• Leviticus Land (14.37m) and Mason Murphy (14.35m) went 2-3 in the shot put.

The squad returns to action next weekend when they host the Warrior Opener at the Doug Edgar Indoor Track.
