GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Indiana Tech continued its decade-plus run of dominance at the WHAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday with the men's and women's team capping off team titles in resounding fashion. For the Tech men it marked the 12th consecutive conference championship while, on the women's side, it's now 13 titles in the last 14 years.
The men got out to an early lead and simply dominated, more that doubling the score of second place Madonna, 239-114. The women's team scored 190 points, besting second place Cornerstone (151) and Aquinas (135).
Doug Edgar was named WHAC Coach of the Year for the 34th and 35th time in his career.

Highlights from Saturday's action:
- Jo'Deci Irby goes #1 in the nation in winning the WHAC championship in the 600m in 1:31.89! Her mark bests the previous school record of 1:32.75, set by Doshawn Franks in 2020. It also breaks the meet record by nearly 4 seconds.
- Kiya Pogue is your WHAC Champion in the 60 hurdles. She breaks the meet record in 8.50 to earn her 2nd indoor title in the event (2022). Katlyn Jones (8.59) finishes 3rd in a season best. Denise Turpin grabs 7th place in 9.52.
- Denise Turpin your WHAC Champion in the women's triple jump! She jumps 10.99 to earn the title for Tech for the fifth straight year. Anajah Gomillia finishes 7th in 9.97m and Kaylee Fisher is 8th in 9.82m.
- Javon Sanders (7.96) edges Ahumad Williams (7.97) at the line to win the WHAC Championship in the 60m hurdles. It's the 4th straight year a Warrior has won the league title (Coleman in '21, Williams in '22 and '23). Diego Sekiyama-Nava (8.39) and Collins Mokuah (8.39) finish 6th and 7th.
- Esau Haynes is just .02 off the win in the 60m, finishing 2nd in 6.77. Davarri Barthell (6.80) takes 3rd, Tyler Dixon (6.96) is 5th, and Parrish Smith (6.98) is 7th.
- Jamaya Warthen is your WHAC Champion in the 60m. She inches closer to the school record in a new NAIA #1 mark of 7.34! Kiya Pogue finishes 3rd in 7.61 and Derica Gibson is 5th in 7.79.
- Mason Murphy finishes 2nd in the shot put in 14.30m. Christian Dixon is just two spots back in 4th at 14.11m while Leviticus Land is in 6th at 13.99m.
- Indiana Tech cleans up in the men's triple jump. Jacquez Lawson is your WHAC Champion in an NAIA "A" mark of 14.36m! Mekhi Oliver hits the "B" in 14.12m to finish 2nd. Rodrigo Davis is 3rd in 13.41, Tayvahr Wright is 5th in 12.72m and Darian Long is 6th, also in 12.72m.
- Jamaya Warthen also wins the 200m in 24.24 to lead a 1-2-3 Tech finish. Soyinne Grenyion takes 2nd in 24.38 and Derica Gibson is 3rd in 25.10. Nioble Holder also sneaks out two points with a 7th place finish in 26.41.
- Krista Boese wins the women's mile at the WHAC Championships in 5:14.59. It's the first individual title of her Tech career and the 2nd overall (she won the 1500 in 2023).
- Led by a league title from Junae Bennett (58.64), Tech goes 1-2-5 in the women's 400m. Bennett's title is the 11th 400m crown for the school since 2011. Kayla Moody takes 2nd place in 58.72 and Aaliyah Frederick is 5th in 59.56.
- Tyler Dixon finishes 3rd in the men's 200m in 22.25 to lead three Warriors in the scoring positions. Justin Harper (22.38) takes 4th and Deonsae Dorsey (22.45) finishes 6th.

Miles Gray is your WHAC Champion in the 400m. He wins the title in 50.35 to give Tech their 10th title in the event in the last 11 years. Kamari Rush picks up 2nd in 50.99, followed by Thomas Newby in 4th in 51.98.
- Giulio Romano finishes 2nd in the men's mile in 4:20.97. Korey Allen earns points with a 4th place finish in 4:23.09.
- Aaron Heisser (3rd, 1:21.81) and Braden Crosby (4th, 1:22.68) combine for 11 points in the men's 600m. Ngor Agwick also PR's in 1:23.85 to finish 9th.
- Giulio Romano finishes 7th in the 1000m in 2:34.26. His mark moves him to #8 on the all-time list at Tech.
Next up for the Warriors is the NAIA Championships in Brookings, South Dakota.
