GAINESVILLE, Fla --
Kiya Pogue grabbed the spotlight for Indiana Tech over the weekend at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Gainesville, Florida. Pogue earned a second and third place finish to earn All-America honors in the 60 hurdles and 60 meters, respectively.
Pogue's mark of 8.26 in the 60 hurdles broke her own school record. She also ran a PR of 7.45 in the 60 meter dash to move up to #4 all-time in that event.
The 4x400 team of
Cale Sanders,
Aaliyah Frederick,
Junae Bennett, and
Alina LaForest earned All-America honors in 3:49.41 with a 4th place finish.
Deanara Mbouge also broke her own school record in the weight throw (17.76m) to pick up All-America honors.
As a team, the Warriors finished 16th on the women's side with 21 points.
Giulio Romano earned All-America honors in the mile with a time (4:11.24) just 1/100th of a second off the school record.
The men's also saw All-America honors earned by
Mason Murphy in the weight throw with a school record-tying mark of 18.23m.
The Warriors now turn their sights to the outdoor season.
