Justin Herbert joined the Indiana Tech Cross Country and Distance Track & Field staff prior to the 2023 indoor season. He brings with him a wealth of experience as a head coach and assistant coach at both the NCAA Division I and NAIA level.
Herbert's most recent coaching stint came at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he served from 2017 to 2021. Prior to that he was also the head cross country and track & field coach at Tennessee Wesleyan and Montreat College, both NAIA institutions.
In 2017, while at Tennessee Wesleyan, Herbert was named USTFCCCA South Region Head Coach of the Year. He is also a two-time Appalachian Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.
Herbert holds a USATF Level II Certification in Endurance Events.
A graduate of Cedarville University, where he competed in cross country and track & field, Herbert earned a master's degree from the University of Cincinnati and recently completed his doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Regent University.
