The sophomore from Fort Wayne, Indiana carried the Warriors in January, dominating all over the court. On the offensive side of the ball, he was a scoring machine. Fugate scored 17+ points in eight of the nine games in January, averaging 20.6 per game, highlighted by a career-high 40-point game on the road at Lawrence Tech on January 29th. He would do this, while shooting 57.7% from the floor and 79.7% from the free throw line, while chipping in 2.6 assists per game. With impressive offensive numbers, it could be said that Fugate was even better defensively for the Warriors! The combo guard/forward would be named WHAC Defensive Player of the Week twice in the month, making it the third and fourth times this season earning conference player of the week honors. Fugate was a menace on the glass, recording 79 rebounds (8.8 per game), and caused havoc for opposing offensives with 20 blocks (2.2 per game) and 11 steals (1.2 per game) in the month.
