A senior from Muruvis, Puerto Rico, Portes had an incredible month, hitting .389 (21-for-54) in 18 March games, reaching base safely in 15 straight and 17 of the 18 games. He had five multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games as well as a five game hitting streak. The Warriors right fielder led the team to a 10-8 record, 7-3 in the WHAC, and scored 16 runs, driving in 24 with six doubles, five home runs, a triple and 17 walks. He slugged .815 for the month with a .534 on-base percentage
