@INTechTennis Men Continue to Win, Dominate Rose-Hulman

BRIEF: Despite resting some of their top singles players, the Indiana Tech men's tennis team continued its winning ways with a 7-2 victory over Rose-Hulman at Swinney Park on Friday. The Warriors played several close matches, including three third set tiebreaks, but ultimately came out on top.  
 
FLOW:
The Warriors got off to a commanding start, winning all three doubles matches for a 3-0 lead. The No. 1 duo of Joaquin Ferrando and Nicholas Aguirre remained undefeated with an 8-2 thumping of Brandon Benedict and Georges Adam. Vinicius Silva and Nicholas Tripanon followed suit at No. 3 doubles, defeating Joe Kendall and Erin Miller, 8-2 while Fernando Sousa and Mikel Oscoz wrapped up the doubles action with an 8-4 victory.
 
In singles play Gaston Raposo put the Warriors ahead, 4-0, with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Tyler Haas at No. 6 singles. The Fightin' Engineers got on the board with a win at No. 5 singles. Silva fell in three sets in the match, losing in a third set tiebreak, 7-4.
 
Sousa sealed the win for the Warriors when he defeated Benedict at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 7-5. Oscoz won a grueling three set match, including a tiebreak in game one, at in the number two position while both matches at No. 3 and No. 4 singles when to a third set tiebreak, with Kino de Leon winning in the fourth position.
 
IN THE NUMBERS:
Aguirre improved to 6-0 in doubles play, including a 5-0 mark with Ferrando.
 
Sousa's win at No. 1 singles pushes his record to 6-1 with a 1-1 mark in the top spot while Oscoz earned his fourth win of the season.
 
Oscoz and Sousa continued to excel in doubles play as well, moving to 4-0 at the No. 2 position.
 
UP NEXT: The Warriors return to action on Saturday, Apr. 11 when they face #RV Cornerstone (Mich.) in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest. The match is slated to begin at 1 p.m. in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
