Warriors Fall to Cardinals in Home Opener

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech Division 3 men's ice hockey team fell to Saginaw Valley State, 5-1, on Saturday evening at SportONE/Parkview Icehouse.
 
Saginaw Valley State would take a 2-0 lead through the first period with their first goal coming under a minute into the period and the second, a power play goal, coming at the 3:03 mark.
 
After Saginaw Valley scored the lone goal in the second period, the Warriors would be put on the board at the 15:15 mark in the final period off a power play goal from Christian Sandberg with Jacob Fallis being credited with the assist.
 
The Cardinals would answer back to Tech's third period goal with two more of their own before the midway point of the period to give the visitors the 5-1 advantage.
 
The Orange and Black (0-2) return to action Thursday, October 6th as they travel to Adrian, Michigan for the road portion of a two-game set with Adrian College – Black. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at Arrington Ice Arena.
