FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech Athletic Department is stepping up in the fight against cancer this week and will be collecting donations at home games this week (Jan. 22-Jan. 28) for cancer research.
The men's and women's basketball teams will be suiting up, but dressing down as a part of Coaches vs. Cancer Week and the Suit and Sneakers initiative on Wednesday when they host Aquinas, where members of both coaching staffs will sport shoes with their coaching attire. Donations will be collected at the gate and donated to the Fort Wayne chapter of the American Cancer Society.
The men's ice hockey team will also be collection donations at their game on Friday night against Aquinas, which will go towards Midland University's men's ice hockey coach, Jason Cirone, who is battling Myxoid Liposarcoma.
The women's basketball game on Wednesday is set to tip-off at 6 p.m. from the Schaefer Center, with the men's game to follow. The men's ice hockey game on Friday is schedule for an 8:30 p.m. puck drop from the SportONE/Parkview Ice House.
