FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's tennis team was defeated by Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) foe Cornerstone, 6-3, in their conference opener Saturday afternoon at Wildwood Racquet Club.
Maria Jimenez and
Lydia Miller picked up a dominant 8-0 win at first flight in doubles action, but the Warriors trailed 2-1 heading into singles play. Jimenez would record her second 6-0, 6-0 double bagel in as many days at first flight over Lauren Brendel and
Kerigan Riley notched a 6-0, 6-2 win at third flight for the Warriors third and final win of the day as Cornerstone took the match , 6-3.
Tech (2-8) returns to action on Tuesday as they host Holy Cross. First serve is set for 4:30 p.m. from the Swinney Tennis Center.
