GRANGER, Ind. – A battle with nonconference foe Bethel College escaped the Indiana Tech women's tennis program Monday afternoon as the Pilots cruised to a 9-0 victory at Knollwood Country Club in Granger, Indiana.
The host Pilots bolted out to an early 3-0 lead after going undefeated in doubles action. Freshmen
Maria Jimenez and
Lydia Miller turned in the top Warrior performance, falling to their top-flight opposition 8-4. The second-flight pairing of
Hannah Dodd and
Joselyne Bobos and the number three team of
Abigail Spencer and
Marissa Quinno each lost their battles with 8-2 score lines.
In singles action, the Pilots rattled off six straight-set victories over the visiting side.
Kerigan Riley and
Joselyne Bobos each fell 7-6, 6-1 in number two and number four singles play, respectively, to guide the team's efforts.
Indiana Tech (3-15, 0-4 WHAC) is scheduled to return to action as they host Concordia (Mich.) on Tuesday, April 24 for their 2018 regular season finale. First serve of the conference battle is set for 1:15 p.m. at the Wildwood Racquet Club in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
