FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team extended its winning streak to six matches Friday evening inside the Schaefer Center as they defeated Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) foe Cornerstone University, 3-2, (22-25, 25-23, 25-16, 26-28, 15-9).

Madeline MacDonald went over the 2,000 career dig mark and finished match with a team-high 26.
Olivia Niekamp had a match-high 18 kills, hit .289 and had three blocks while
Amaya Anderson and
Madelyn Omo each had 10 kills each, with the latter hitting .412.
Madison Park dished out 34 assists and added 11 digs for the double-double.
Cornerstone raced out to a 3-0 lead to begin the match, but the Warriors responded with a 7-4 run to tie the set up at 7-7. Tech used a 5-0 spurt to go ahead 13-10, but a 6-1 run from the visitors put them ahead 16-14. The Golden Eagles held on to the lead and took the early lead with a 25-22 win.
The second set would be another back-and-forth affair as Tech got out to an 8-6 lead, but Cornerstone rallied to take a 12-9 lead. The hosts appeared to gain control of the game with a 5-1 run that gave them a 22-18 lead, but Cornerstone fought off four set points to cut the deficit to 24-23, but
Allison Cole tied the match up with a kill to give the Orange and Black the 25-23 win.
The Warriors controlled the action early in the third and rattled off seven straight points to take an 11-5 lead. A 6-0 spurt extended their advantage to 17-6 and Tech grew the lead to 23-9. Cornerstone went on a rally of their own through, scoring seven straight points to put a scare in the Warriors, but back-to-back kills from
Havilyn Cummings killed the rally and put Tech up 2-1.
The fourth set was a battle from the start with 10 ties and six lead changes. Trailing 10-8, Tech went on a 9-1 run to take a 17-11 lead. Cornerstone came storming back though to tie the set up at 23-23. After trading points and both sides having a chance to take the set, the visitors won the last three points to send it to a fifth set.
The Golden Eagles appeared poised to come away with the win as they started off the decisive set with a 7-4 run. Four straight points from the Warriors though, would put them up 8-7 at the changeover. With the set tied 8-8, Tech went on a 7-1 run, with Anderson getting three kills, to take the two-hour plus match.
Tech (20-6, 8-4 WHAC) returns to action Saturday as they host Aquinas College in a conference battle. First serve is set for 1 p.m. from the Schaefer Center.
