FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's tennis team closed out their fall season in spectacular style Saturday afternoon as they dominated Indiana University East, 5-2, at the Swinney Tennis Center.
 
"I'm super proud of our fall efforts and am excited to see how we progress heading into the spring as we look for conference titles and national tournament berths," head coach 
Brock Orlowski said.
 
The Warriors started off the match strong with a sweep of doubles action, with the first and second flights of 
Abigail Simms/
Carolina Fabbri and 
Martina Borges/
Elena Tokic winning 6-3.
 
Simms came back a first set loss at number one singles to win, 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 while 
Chloe Smithley clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at number five singles.
 
"Abigail knocked off a top-three player in the Midwest and player her best match of the year," Orlowski added. "It was a big time win for our number one freshman."
 
Borges won 6-2, 6-1 at second flight while Fabbri won 6-3, 6-2 at third flight.
 
"It was a great exclamation point to our fall season," Orlowski said. To finish out with a win at home is a great way to send us into the offseason on a good note and with some momentum."
 
Tech finishes the fall campaign with a 6-1 record and will return to action in the spring semester.
