FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 23-ranked Indiana Tech men's basketball team earned its first win of the season Saturday afternoon as they defeated Trinity International University, 93-67, inside the Schaefer Center.
 
Josh Kline led all scorers with 22 points and six rebounds while Lucas Lehrman notched his first career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds while adding two blocks. Max Huber chipped in 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and three blocks while Jeremy Luciani and Dilyn Good each had 10 points.
 
Both teams took a couple of minutes to get their offensive moves going, with the Warriors striking first with an 8-1 lead following a fast-break layup from Huber and a three-pointer from Mitch Morken four minutes into the game. The Trojans battled back though, tying the game up at 14 with 10:57 to play in the first half following an 8-2 spurt. Tech did not let the visitors gain the lead though, coming right back with baskets from Huber, Good and Davison to go back ahead 21-14.
 
The Orange and Black maintained their advantage throughout the rest of the first half and taking advantage of a 4-0 run from Davison in the final minute of the period and a 2:55 scoring drought from the Trojans to take a 35-27 lead into the break.
 
Tech started to open the game up in the second half as a dunk from Lehrman capped a 7-0 spurt for the hosts to make it a 44-34 lead at the 16:52 mark. Two possessions later Kline would throw one down on the fast break while another dunk from Lehrman put the Warriors back up by double digits at 54-43 with 11:50 to play.
 
The Orange and Black continued to push down on the gas pedal as they inched closer to their first win of the season and didn't allow the lead to dip until 10 points for the rest of the game while extending their advantage to as many as 28 points thanks to an 11-4 run before the final horn sounded on a 93-67 victory.
 
Tech (1-4) now turns its attention to conference play as they host Lourdes University on Saturday, November 16 in their Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) opener. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. from the Schaefer Center.
