DETROIT – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team fell to NCAA Division II foe Wayne State University, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon inside the Doris J. and Donald L. Duchene, Sr. Athletic Facility.
The Warriors battled tough in doubles action, with the third flight of
Alvaro Gomez and
Pablo Bono falling 6-4 while the top team of
Rui Lima and
Alvaro Garrido lost 6-3 as the hosts took a 1-0 lead.
Garrido fell at third flight 6-1, 6-4 while Bono dropped a 7-6 (5), 6-2 contest at fifth flight as the hosts shut out Tech.
Tech (4-6) opens up Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action on Saturday, March 2 as they travel to No. 19-ranked University of Northwestern Ohio. First serve is set for 11 a.m. from the Westwood Tennis and Fitness Center.
