LEXINGTON, Ohio – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team fell to NCAA Division II foe Tiffin University, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon inside the Lakewood Racquet Club.
The Warriors took a 1-0 lead after doubles action as they won all three flights, with the second flight of
Tiago Neves and
Brunno Storani winning 6-2 while the third flight of
Alvaro Gomez and Andreas Leal won 6-1.
Tech was stymied in singles action though as the Dragons won five of the six flights to take the match. Neves picked up the Warriors lone win with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 victory at first flight while
Rui Lima dropped a tough 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 decision at fifth flight. Leal and
Alvaro Garrido would both put fights at third and fourth flight before falling in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5 and 6-4, 6-4, respectively.
Tech (3-4) returns to action quickly as they travel to Homewood, Illinois on Monday, February 11 to take on NCJAA powerhouse Prairie State College. First serve is set for 2 p.m. from the H-F Racquet and Fitness Club.
