LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 19-ranked Indiana Tech baseball team concluded its spring break trip Saturday with a split against No. 4-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College, winning game one, 10-6, before falling in game two, 4-3, at the Grizzly Baseball Complex.
The Grizzlies jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but Tech came back with two runs of their own in the third to knot the game up.
Jake Ritson put the Warriors ahead in the fourth with an RBI single while a misplay in the outfield allowed three more Tech runners to score on a two-out fly ball.
A Spencer McGhee home run made it 7-3 Tech in the sixth while
Jacob Alvidrez put the game out of reach with a two-RBI single in the eight that extended the lead to 9-5.
Hayes Sturtsman improved to 2-0 with a 6.1 innings of solid work allowing five runs, four earned, on five hits while striking out eight.
GGC took a 2-0 lead again in the second inning of game two thanks to a pair of doubles while they extended their lead to 3-0 in the fourth.

Glen McClain drew a bases-loaded walk with one out to make it a 3-2 game and

Both teams had their chances to take the lead over the next few innings, but it wouldn't be until the bottom of the ninth that the winning run would score. After a strikeout to begin the inning, the hosts rattled off a single and a walk before getting another single to drive in the winning run and take the series with the 4-3 victory.

Tech (13-8) returns to action on Saturday as they begin Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action against Lawrence Tech. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. from Jimmy John's Field in Utica, Michigan.
