FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team snapped a two-game losing skid on Wednesday evening inside the Schaefer Center as they defeated Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) foe Siena Heights University, 3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-18), in their second home match of the season.
 
The Warriors got out to a hot start in set one with a 5-2 run, but the Saints rattled off four quick points to go ahead 6-5. Tech responded with a 9-0 spurt to regain control of the set and made quick work of the visitors to take a 1-0 lead with the 25-15 win.
 
The Orange and Black continued to control the action in the second set as they got out to a 10-3 lead that was capped by a 6-0 run. The two sides would trade points over the next 14 serves, but the hosts closed out the set on a 7-0 run to take a commanding 2-0 lead with the 25-10 victory.
 
Tech would have little trouble getting out of front the Saints in set three, getting out to a 9-2 run and eventually holding an 18-8 lead. Siena Heights rallied to cut the deficit to 22-18 and threatened to push the match to a fourth set, but the Warriors cut off any hopes of a comeback with three straight kills to get the 25-18 win and completing the sweep.
 
Calista Helinski and Olivia Niekamp each recorded seven kills while Havilyn Cummings hit .571 with five kills. Madison Park dished out 15 assists while Kelsey Schaldenbrand had 14. Madeline MacDonald had 22 digs to round out Tech's leaders.
 
Tech (11-4, 3-2 WHAC) returns to action on Friday, September 27 as they begin a three-game road trip with a visit to the University of Michigan-Dearborn. First serve is set for 7 p.m. from the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
