FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Indiana Tech men's hockey drops their second match up with Iowa State in the final two periods.
The Warriors were able to get on the board early and score the first goal of the game with
Daniel Spannar and
Axel Low feeding
Matej Krasny in front of the net to lead 1-0. Both teams were held scoreless the remainder of the period to head into their locker rooms with Tech leading 1-0.
The Cyclones came out strong in the second period and ready to play when they executed on a five-minute power play for two goals to take a 2-1 lead heading into the third period.
Zach Bennett found the back of the net for the Warriors just under three minutes into the third period with assists by
Krasny and
Cam Chabot to tie the game 2-2.
Just 23 seconds later the Cyclones connected again to take a 3-2 lead. Iowa State found the back of the net two more times while the Warriors struggled to maintain
possession and fell to the Cyclones 5-2 to split the weekend 1-1.
Indiana Tech recorded 28 shots and went 32 for 66 on faceoffs while
Ryan O'Toole took the loss in net with 27 saves.
The Warriors are back on the ice Thursday, October 29
th when they travel to Adrian for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop.
