Taylor tied the game up at 41 with 17:51 on the clock following a 7-3 spurt to open the second half, but the Warriors answered with a 7-2 run to go back up 50-45 at the 15:21 mark. A 3:19 scoring drought from the Trojans, coupled with an 11-0 run from Tech, pushed the lead up to 65-50 for the hosts and put the visitors on their heels for good with under 10 minutes to play. The Trojans cut the lead back down to 10 points with 7:26 to go, but that was as close as they would get as the Orange and Black responded with an 18-8 run to make it an 86-66 game at the 2:40 mark and shut the door on any comeback attempt.
