LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Indiana Tech women's tennis team fell to No. 1-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College, 7-0, Monday afternoon inside the GGC Tennis Facility.
The Grizzlies, winners of 18 straight matches and four straight NAIA National Championships, didn't drop a beat after defeating No. 17-ranked University of the Cumberlands 7-0 earlier in the day, and did not drop a set in any of the doubles matches.
GGC continued its dominance in single play, surrendering just nine sets, with
Dominique Michelet picking up three of them in a 6-1, 6-2 loss at four singles.
Carolina Fabbri dropped a 6-2, 6-0, decision at five singles while
Elena Tokic fell 6-1, 6-1 at the sixth position.
Tech (7-4) returns to action on Wednesday, March 11 as they travel to Point University for a nonconference matchup. First serve is set for 2 p.m. from the Valley Sportsplex Tennis Courts.
