KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Indiana Tech men's soccer team had four student-athletes named to the 2021 NAIA All-America Team, the office announced last Wednesday.
Junior
Will Harris was tabbed to the Second Team while graduate student
Maxwell Amoako, sophomore
Jaume Salvado, and junior
Pep Casas garnered spots on the Honorable Mention list.
Amoako and Harris, the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year award recipients from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) led the Warriors on their respective sides of the pitch, with the former tallying 19 goals, the second most ever recorded in a single season at Indiana Tech, while the latter anchored a backline that allowed under a half a goal per game while recording 14 shutouts, Amoako was also named to the 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-America Team.
Casas was also named All-WHAC First Team, he provided steadiness and excellent ball movement for the Warriors this season, scoring two goals and five assists in 1,497 minutes on the pitch. Salvado, another member of the All-WHAC First Team and was a Defensive Player of the Week winner, made 58 saves on the year and only allowed 10 goals, earning 14 shutouts on the season.
It is the third time that Casas has been named to the All-America team and the second time for Amoako, Harris, and Salvado.
