UPLAND, Ind. - The Indiana Tech men's basketball team continued to ride their hot streak on Tuesday night as they defeated Taylor University, 69-45.
The Warriors appeared to be in for a close battle with the feisty Trojans, as they only led by six points at the halftime break. But the defense stepped up big time in the closing half, as Tech held Taylor to just 14 points, 17.9% shooting from the floor, 16.7% shooting from three-point range, and only having one shooting foul.Â
Grant Smith was the high-man, finishing with 17 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists.
Josh Kline nearly had a double-double, finishing with 12 points and eight boards.
Rog Stein had a solid night as well, chipping in 10 points and snatching three rebounds.
The Warriors shot an efficient 51.9% from the floor, made 28.6% of their triples, and 81.8% of their foul shots. Tech once again dominated the opposition in the painted area, as they out-scored the Trojans 42-8 in that category.Â
Indiana Tech moves to 10-4 on the season, notching their seventh consecutive victory. Next up they'll host the Huntington University Foresters (9-3, 2-1 away) on Thursday night at the Schaefer Center, tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
