ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Baseball was on the road to Concordia today and dropped both games of the conference doubleheader.
In the first game, Concordia jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the third when they scored four runs. The Warriors were able to get on the board in the top of the fourth when
Spenser McGhee singled before the Cardinals got the second out.
McGhee advanced on a passed ball before
Micah O'Donnell walked to put a runner on first and second with two outs and
Jacob Daftari up to bat.
Daftari accepted the challenge and hits a single to score
McGhee from second and end the inning with the Warriors down 4-1. The Cardinals scored one more in the bottom of the fifth to lead by four again (5-1). Tech was unable to score again until the top of the eighth when
Mike Snyder led off the inning with a double. After a ground out,
Christian De Los Santos hit a single and scored
Snyder from second. The Warriors were unable to score again and fell in the first game 5-2.
Daftari was 2-for-3 in the box with one RBI while
De Los Santos was 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Snyder went 1-for-3 with one run and
McGhee went 1-for-4 with one run.
Charles Dunavan took the loss on the mound pitching five innings with three strikeouts while
Zach Zaborowski ended the game with three innings pitched and four strikeouts.
In game two, the Cardinals jumped out to a 1-0 lead after the third inning and went on to score seven runs in the fourth inning. Concordia held Tech scoreless and won the game 8-0.
McGhee went 1-for-2 in the box along with
Jayden Reed while
De Los Santos and
Yeshua Saint both were 1-for-3.
Hayes Sturtsman took the loss pitching 3.1 innings with three strikeouts while
Jared Maxfield finished the 4.2 innings with five strikeouts.
The Warriors are back in action on Wednesday, March 31
st when they host Indiana Wesleyan at 4 p.m.
