FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Women's tennis earned a win for their seniors earlier today taking down Holy Cross College 7-0.
The Warriors opened the match with a loss at the number one doubles spot before
Marianna Murcia and
Vero Jimenez won at the number two holding their opponent scoreless for a 6-0 win.
Thaina Carvalho and
Carolina Fabbri then won at the number three 6-1 for the Warriors to have the advantage headed into singles.
Jimenez won at the number one singles 6-3 and 6-1 while
Isidora Hrnjak won at the number two 6-1 and 6-4.
Murcia won at the number three 6-1 and then won a tiebreaker 7-4 to take the match.
Martina Borges earned the win at the number four 6-3 and 6-0 while
Ana Gomez won 6-2 and 6-2.
Carvalho swept her opponent at number six singles not allowing her opponent any points with two 6-0 set wins to solidify the win for the Warriors.
Tech is on the road Friday, April 16
th at Concordia for a conference match at 2 p.m.
