GOSHEN, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's tennis team opened up the 2021-22 season in dominating style Wednesday afternoon with a 6-1 victory over Goshen College at the Goshen College Tennis Complex.
 
The Warriors swept through doubles action with the number three team of Arianna Calcatelli and Thaina Carvalho and second flight of Semmie Moore / Rebecca van der Lee both posting 6-0 shutouts.
 
Carvalho and Marianna Murcia kicked off singles play with 6-0, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-2 wins at the third and first position, respectively. Carvalho brought Tech to match point with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at fourth flight while Semmie Moore clinched the win with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at fifth flight. Shelby Puryear posted a 6-0, 6-0 double bagel at the number six spot.
 
Tech (1-0) returns to action September 16 with the start of the Indiana Wesleyan Fall Classic. Opponents and start times have yet to be released.
