ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Indiana Tech women's wrestling team finished 3-2 at the Adrian Duals on Saturday. Tech knocked off McKendree University (Ill.) 30-18, Lakeland University (Wis.) 48-1, and Elmira College (N.Y.) 37-12, while dropping matches to North Central College (Ill.) 29-18 and Sacred Heart University (Conn.) 26-19 at the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center.
Among the Warriors with standout performances in the five duals was Andrea Hernandez, who finished 5-0 on the day. She recorded falls in four of the five bouts at 123; winning in 2:33 against North Central's Dakota Drew, after just 18 seconds versus McKendree's Megan Stutsman, in 49 seconds against Lakeland's Mikayla Rieck, and in 26 ticks against Tatiana Walker of Sacred Heart.
Sam Snow (143) went undefeated in two matches, taking down Shainia Murray of McKendree with a 13-1 technical fall and Nort Central's Rile Aamold via technical fall at 15-4.
Isabelle Silva (116) also went 2-0 Saturday, pinning Elvie Villa of McKendree in 2:09, and taking an 8-6 decision against SHU's Nohea Moniz.
Elly Kuzma (136) and Makayla Young (101) each finished the day 4-1, with Young's lone setback coming in the final seconds to NCAA DII No. 2 ranked Lizette Rodriguez (McKendree).
