FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech track team continued their season by hosting the Strive for Greatness Invitational at the Turnstone Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The women's team had eight runners finish in the top three of their respective events.
Jamaya Warthen finished first in the 60-meter with a time of 7.67 while also topping the 200-meter, clocking a 25.22.
Olaide Olapade and
Kayla Moody finished first and second in the 600-meter with times of 1:38.10 and 1:41.49, respectively.
Krista Boese and Mckenna Palmer finished first and second in the 5000-meter with times of 18:46.22 and 19:33.34.
Katlyn Jones finished first in the 60-meter hurdles crossing the line with an 8.52 time, while
Kiya Pogue finished third with an 8.69. All eight runners finishing in the top three did so with an NAIA A Standard time.
Jaunita Webster-Freeman and
Mary Catherine Lee tied for second in the high jump, clearing 1.64m meeting the NAIA A Standard.
Maeve Milligan topped the podium in the women's pole vault, followed by
Savannah Emaus, who finished second in the event. Both cleared 3.17m. Milligan got the nod for the top spot due to fewer errors.
Carlie Turner placed second in the Long Jump as she soared to the 5.71m mark.
Katlyn Jones finished third in the Triple Jump hitting the 11.54m mark. Jaunita Webster-Freeman took the top spot in the Shot Put, throwing 12.33m.
The Track team takes a break for the Holiday season but will travel to Nashville, Tennessee, for the Commodore Challenge on January 13.
