FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Indiana Tech head coach
Doug Edgar has announced the upcoming 2022-23 schedules for the men's and women's track & field programs. The slate features four home meets, including the January 21st debut of the brand new indoor track facility at Warrior Park.
INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
The indoor schedule kicks off on December 3rd as Purdue Fort Wayne hosts the Mastodon Opener. A home meet at the Turnstone Center on December 10th will be followed by a weekend of split squad action with some going to Vanderbilt and others to Trine.
The
Doug Edgar Indoor Track Facility will open to the public for the first time on January 21st when the Warriors host a home invitational. Other regular season meets include trips to Louisville (Bellarmine) and Allendale (Grand Valley State).
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Indoor Championships will be hosted by Indiana Tech at the new indoor facility on February 17th and 18th. For the fourth consecutive year, the NAIA Indoor Championships will be held in South Dakota. It will mark the second straight year and third time in this stretch, that Brookings and South Dakota State University will serve as host.
OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD
A short stretch of training after the indoor championships will end on April 1st at Indiana State's Pacesetter Sports Invitational in Terre Haute. Following the outdoor opener, Tech will host a meet (April 7-8) and compete at High Point (April 15), Indiana Wesleyan (April 21-22), and Vanderbilt (April 28-29).
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Outdoor Championships will be held in Adrian, Michigan, on the campus of Siena Heights University. Following eight straight years in Gulf Shores, Alabama, the NAIA Outdoor Championships return to the Hoosier State and will be hosted by Indiana Wesleyan, May 24th through 26th. Indiana Wesleyan also hosted the championships from 2010-2013. The final year of their run as host featured men's and women's championships by Indiana Tech, the first outdoor national titles in the school's history.

Doug Edgar has led Indiana Tech track & field to 15 national titles and 38 WHAC championships. In fact, the Warriors have won 18 straight conference titles on the men's side and 22 of 24 on the women's. In the last two years alone, the women's program has won three national championships while the men have won one and have two other top three finishes to their name. Additionally, both squads have been named the NAIA Scholar Team of the Year.
