FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Like the distance between Fort Wayne and Marion on I-69, there was little that separated Indiana Wesleyan (2-0-2) and Indiana Tech (0-0-3) on the pitch Saturday night in a nil-nil stalemate at Warrior Athletic Field. The Warriors and Wildcats each attempted 12 shots, Wesleyan held a slim 5-3 lead in corner kicks, and Tech sophomore
Jaume Salvado recorded nine saves to Aaron Carr's five.
Rookie
Jaume Castells Mas paced the Warriors with three shots, followed by junior
Luke Jones and freshman
Aaron Asamoah with two apiece. The Warriors are still in search of their first goal in 2022 through 270 minutes after scoring 61 times in 23 games a season ago. Defensively, the three shutouts put Tech in a second-place tie nationally, behind only Viterbo (Wis.), which leads the NAIA with four clean sheets.
Tech continues its search for the first goal and first win of the season on Wednesday, Sept. 7, vs. Goshen College in Fort Wayne.
