FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Indiana Tech's Matthew Gimson earned Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference Wrestler-of-the-Week honors, the conference office announced Monday. Gimson, 18-1 on the season, needed just 2:56 seconds total to pin his three opponents from Cleary, Cornerstone, and Marian on Saturday in the Warriors' three conference dual victories. Gimson, an Elkhart, Ind., native, dropped Cleary's Ryan Weaver in 38 seconds, Cornerstone's Devan Johnson in two minutes, and Marian's Dylan McKelvey in 18 seconds, earning 18 dual points.

Gimson, a three-time NAIA qualifier, and his Warrior teammates will compete in their final two WHAC duals this week, at Siena Heights on Thursday, Feb. 2, and at Lourdes on Friday, Feb. 3, in search of the league's first regular-season title. Tech is the two-time defending WHAC champion.
