ADRIAN, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's wrestling team spent the weekend in Adrian, Michigan, competing in the Adiran Duals on Saturday, where the Warriors went 2-3, before the Adrian Open on Sunday. The Orange and Black opened the weekend with back-to-back wins over Elmira College (39-11) and Gannon University (30-16) before falling to McKendree University (8-37) and North Central College (7-35 and 19-26).
Tech started strong with a win over Elmira, in which 6 Warriors won their match via fall, all complete in under two and a half minutes, and followed the strong performance with a win over Gannon University, with seven Warriors winning their matchup. Tech struggled in their final three matches as they dropped all three.
In the Open, the Warriors had 5 athletes finish in the top six of their respective weight classes. In the 109-weight class, the Warriors had three top 6 finishers, with
Allison Hancher finishing 6
th,
Makayla Young finishing 4
th, and
Tehani Soares finishing 3
rd.
Maia Crumb finished 6
th for the Warriors in the 143-weight class, while
Cydney Bassett finished 6
th in the 155-weight class.
The Warriors are back in action on the 19
th as they compete in the Albion Invitational in Albion, Michigan.
