VANCOUVER, Wash. –
Lisa Voyles closed out her Indiana Tech cross country career on Friday by accomplishing something no student-athlete in the program's history has done. Her top forty finish at the NAIA Championships in Vancouver clinched the All-America honors for the Danville, Kentucky native for the third time in her illustrious career.
Voyles is the only multi-season All-American on the women's side. Camron Walter was a two-time All-American for the men's program in 2007 and 2008.
Voyles also earned All-American in 2021 and 2022 on a 5K course. Friday's meet in Vancouver was the first to be contested over a 6K route. Despite feeling under the weather, Voyles took 37th in 22:29.7.
McKenna Palmer also represented Tech, finishing 117th in 23:45.4. Her spot was a full 105 points higher than she finished in the same meet in 2022.
The meet closes the door on the 2023 cross country season. Voyles, Palmer, and the rest of the Warriors will now turn their sights to the track season, which gets going in December with the commencement of the indoor schedule.
