WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Indiana Tech women's wrestling team spent the weekend in Williamsburg, Kentucky, to compete in the Patriot Duals, hosted by the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.), in which they won five of their six matches, with wins over Lourdes (27-20), Mount Olive (28-20), Siena Heights (44-4), Tiffin (34-13), and Cumberlands (30-14). The Warrior's lone loss came against No. 1 Life (31-15).
On Friday against the Gray Wolves, the Warriors went 6-4, with Ellyana Kuzma,
Maia Crumb,
Loralei Smith, Catherine McNulty,
Sydney Kutzke, and
Riley Horvath winning their matchups. In the Warriors' lone loss against Life, Tech went 3-7, as
Tehani Soares, Ellyana Kuzma, and
Maia Crumb claimed their duals. Closing out day one, the Orange and Black went 5-5 in their dual with Mount Olive, with
Sydney Kutzke, Ellyana Kuzma,
Maia Crumb,
Grace Doering, and Catherine McNulty taking down their opponents.
On Saturday, Tech opened the day with a dominant win over Siena Heights, going 9-1 with wins from Becca Waterman, Soares, Kutzke, Horvath,
Marisa Moffitt,
Brooklyn Figueroa, Crumb, Smith, and Doering. Against Tiffin, Tech went 7-3 in their matches, with Young, Horvath, Moffitt, Anderson, Smith,
Alexandra Collins, and McNulty taking down their opponent. Closing out the duals against the host Cumberlands, Tech won 7 of the 10 duals. Blake, Soares, Young, Kuzma, Anderson, Crumb, and Smith were the winners for Tech.
Tech travels to Naperville, Illinois, for their next competition on Sunday, December 10, at the North Central Cardinals Open.
