FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team repeats as the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament Champions with a 3-1 victory over Lourdes University on Saturday afternoon in the WHAC tournament final. The Warriors have now accomplished the WHAC double (regular season and conference tournament champions) for the second consecutive year finishing the regular season with a 19-8 record while going 16-2 in the WHAC.
Leading the charge for the Warriors was middle blocker
Raekwon Rogers, who delivered a dominant performance with 15 kills and a remarkable .833 hitting percentage. He also added 2 blocks and 4 digs to his tally, making him the most valuable player of the match with 17 points.
Daynte Stewart also contributed significantly to the Warriors' victory, recording 10 kills, 3 blocks, and 2 service aces, and
Dante Siracusa recorded 10 kills for the Orange and Black. Rogers and
Mason Milan both recorded 4.0 blocks, and
Brandon Jones contributed 3.0 blocks. The Warriors also had a solid serving game, with Stewart and
Jacob Carrico both recording 2 aces and
Mario Capo adding 1 ace to the team's total.
In terms of assists,
Brandon Jones led the team with 45 assists. The team's strong defensive performance was reflected in their digs, with
Joey Hermes recording 20 digs, followed by
Jacob Carrico with 9 digs and
Daynte Stewart with 4 digs.
The Warriors now prepare for the NAIA National Tournament, with the national office announcing the qualifiers on April 3 at 4 p.m. Central.
