Women’s Track & Field Crowned WHAC Outdoor Champions

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's track team went to Michigan on Thursday and Friday for the 2025 WHAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Warriors would be crowned WHAC Champions for a 7th straight season, making it 12 of the last 14! Tech would finish the championships with 182.5 points, defeating second place Cornerstone University by over 25 points.

Claiming WHAC First Team honors were McKenna Palmer and Emma Longeuay. Palmer would win the 1500m with a 4:44.28, while Longeuay would win the javelin with a school record mark of 41.89m. WHAC Second Team honors would include Sarah Koker in the steeplechase (11.56.95), Kiya Pogue in the 100m (11.88), Junae Bennett in the 400m (54.81), Deanara Mbouge in the hammer throw (45.34m), and Ryah DiGiacomo in the javelin (41.77)

Kayla Rorie (110m hurdles – 14.52), Junae Bennett (200m – 24.53), Korah Honig (discus – 36.56m), the 4x100m relay team of Kayla Rorie, Kiya Pogue, Jorden Gore, and Lola Duncan (47.8), the 4x400m relay team of Genesis Borom, Alina LaForest, Cale Sanders, and Abby Plezia (3:54.22), and the 4x800m relay team of Genesis Borom, Sarah Koker, Skotti Ball-Duley, and McKenna Palmer (10:03.14) would earn Honorable Mention All-Conference honors, while Andrea Lawrence was named to the WHAC Champions of Character Team. Head Coach Doug Edgar was named WHAC Coach of the Year and 15 Warriors, including McKenna Palmer, Maria Bacchetta, Junae Bennett, Ryah DiGiacomo, Evelyn Dolce, Mattie Fell, Aaliyah Frederick, Dakyra Howard, Andrea Lawrence, Maeve Milligan, Latarsha Moore, Kiya Pogue, Emily DuVall, Anyssa Heinold, and Karla Julian would earn WHAC All-Academic Team honors.

The Warriors will compete in one more meet prior to the NAIA Outdoor National Championships that will be held in Marion, Indiana from May 21st to May 23rd. Tech will compete at the Sycamore Open hosted by Indiana State University on Friday, May 9th in Terre Haute, Indiana.
