FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Indiana Tech's
Jonathan Kervin,
Giselle Uvieghara,
Jaidyn Gulley,
Ian Kangas, and
Ryan Doucette were named Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Players of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Jonathan Kervin would lead the men's wrestling team to a third place finish at the NWCA National Duals over the weekend, going 4-0 in his matches with three of those wins coming against top 20 ranked wrestlers in the 165lb class.
Giselle Uvieghara earned indoor track athlete of the week after winning the 400m race at the Wolverine Invitational on Saturday with a mark of 57.64 seconds. She also helped the Warriors to a third place finish and NAIA 'B' standard in the 4x400m relay.
Jaidyn Gulley went off last week to earn defensive player of the week honors, recording 31 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 blocks in just two games. Tech would win both games and Gulley would also score 22 points on the offensive end. Men's hockey would sweep both offensive and defensive player of the week honors this week as
Ian Kangas posted two shutout wins over Rochester Christian, while making 21 saves in goal for the Warriors and
Ryan Doucette would record 11 points across the two games, scoring 5 goals and adding 6 assists.
