Indiana Tech Rugby Goes 5–1 at Boilermaker 7s

WESTFIELD, Ind. – Indiana Tech Rugby delivered a strong performance at the Boilermaker 7s, finishing the day with a combined 5–1 record across varsity and reserve sides. The Varsity showed steady growth throughout the day, while the Reserves capped it off with an undefeated run and bracket championship.
 
Varsity Results
 
Indiana Tech opened the day against host Purdue University in a tightly contested match, falling 21–17. Tries were scored by Andrew Evans, Dakota Faulkner, and Ashton Skarie, with Faulkner adding a conversion.
 
The Warriors responded in their second match with a 19–5 win over Wabash College. Tries came from Ashton Skarie, Dakota Faulkner, and Drew Stauffer, while Faulkner added two conversions.
 
In the final varsity match, Indiana Tech earned a dominant 38–5 win over Trine University. The attack was well-balanced, with tries from Ashton Skarie, Noah Allen, Dakota Faulkner, Maxwell Ledbetter, German Gonzalez, and Aveairre White. Faulkner added three conversions in a complete team performance. The Warriors finish in fifth place for the second year in a row at Boilermaker 7s.
 
Reserve Results
 
The reserve side put together an outstanding day, going 3–0 and claiming the B-Side bracket championship.
 
Indiana Tech opened with a 34–0 shutout over Northwestern University. Tries were scored by Max Brinker, Aden Kalhoefer, Preston Grundish, Sergio Trevino, and two from Jude Rhinesmith. Kaden Hasty added two conversions.
 
In the second match, the Warriors defeated Purdue C 24–12. Tries came from Max Brinker, Kaden Hasty, JP Cheever, and Aveairre White. Brinker and Hasty each added a conversion.
 
The reserve side closed the day with a 29–5 win over IU Indianapolis. Tries were scored by Kaden Hasty, JP Cheever, Andrew Evans, and two from Luca Hubley. Hasty added two more conversions.
 

Indiana Tech's combined 5–1 finish reflects a strong step forward in 7s play. The varsity group improved each match, while the reserve side showed depth, consistency, and the ability to finish, earning the B-side tournament championship.
 
The Warriors now turn their focus to hosting the Big Rivers 7s Conference Tournament this weekend in Fort Wayne.
