Brandt Danals enters into his fourth season as the head coach of both the men’s and women’s tennis teams at Indiana Tech. In addition to his tennis responsibilities, Danals has also been an assistant basketball coach at Indiana Tech for the last five years.
In his first three seasons, Danals has coached 21 WHAC All-Academic Team selections, 17 NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athletes, 10 All-Conference selections, and four WHAC Player of the Week honorees. He holds a overall record of 32-79 at Tech, with the men's team going 25-34 under his watch while the women's team sports a 7-45.
During the 2017-18 season the men finished with a record of 10-13 (2-3 WHAC) and advanced to the semifinals of the WHAC Tournament, falling to No. 1-seed and eventual champion University of Northwestern Ohio, while the women went 3-17 (0-5), bowing out in the quarterfinals of the WHAC Tournament. Danals mentored a pair of All-Conference selections in freshmen Brunno Storani and Maria Veronica Jimenez.
In 2016-17, he guided the men's team to an 6-13 overall record with a 1-5 mark in WHAC play, finishing sixth in the conference, while the women's squad went 2-14 overall and finished seventh in conference play with a 0-6 mark. Both teams would qualify for the conference tournament, falling in the quarterfinals of their respective tournaments.
In his first year at the helm (2015-16), Danals saw the men's program receive votes in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll while guiding them to a 9-8 record overall and 4-2 mark in WHAC play, finishing third in the conference. The Warriors would defeat Cornerstone in the first round of the WHAC Tournament before falling to second-seeded and 11th-ranked Aquinas in the semifinals. On the women's side, Danals led the Orange and Black to a 2-4 record in conference play (2-14 overall), finishing fifth in the standings and qualifying for the conference tournament, where they fell to fourth-seeded Lawrence Tech.
