Taylor's Career Day Not Enough as @IndianaTechVB Falls to No.21 Cornerstone, 3-1

Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. –Despite a career high 21 kills from Suzanne Taylor, the Indiana Tech volleyball team lost in four sets to No.21 Cornerstone, 3-1 (15-25, 23-25, 25-21, 24-26), on Saturday at Mol Arena. It's the Warriors (10-18, 4-4) second loss to a top-25 team this week having lost a five set heartbreak to No. 24 Davenport on Wednesday.

In the first set the Warriors were able to keep it close, tying several times until the 8-8 mark when the Golden Eagles went on a 17-7 run to finish the game 25-15. Tech bounced back though in set two, leading early, the largest margin coming at 6-3, but the Orange and Black couldn't finish, failing to lead after a 10-10 tie, losing the match 25-23.

Suzanne Taylor and Katelyn St. Martin led the way in the third set win as each tallied six kills to help the Warriors take the game 25-21. Tech led 11-3 early in the match and despite a late surge by CU, the Warriors held on for the win.

Tech fought hard in the fourth set, despite falling behind 14-9, the Warriors tied it at 19 and held a 23-21 and 24-22 lead but couldn't finish the set, allowing Cornerstone to win the match with a 26-24 win. Taylor was incredible in the final set tallying six kills and just one error on 17 attempts, but it wasn't enough to give the Warriors the victory.

Taylor collected five digs to go along with her career-high 21 kills while St. Martin added 14 kills and Stacy Nagy tallied 10. Kelsey Fitzpatrick had a team-high 23 assists while Alexandra Roberts added 20.

Taylor Kelso was busy in the back row collecting 34 digs while Cassandra Sarabia added 14. Unfortunately Tech tallied just four blocks while Cornerstone was able to collect 12 in the win.

The Warriors return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 23 when they travel to Southfield, Mich. to face Lawrence Tech.
