Box Score 2 FORT WAYNE, Ind. –The Indiana Tech volleyball team went 2-0 on the final day of the Liz Lykowski Memorial Tournament to finish 3-1, the lone loss coming to No. 18 Georgetown College. The Warriors improve to 9-16 on the season.

The Warriors had a fight on their hands to open play on the final day of the Liz Lykowski Memorial Tournament, taking all five sets to defeat the Pilots (14-8) of Bethel, 3-2 (25-22, 19-25, 25-21, 21-25, 15-9).
The first four sets were back-and-forth affairs with multiple ties and now team really separating itself from the other, leading to narrow margins of victory. As with most sets, the team that hit the best won the game, as the Warriors outhit the Pilots in games one, three and five (.209/.062, .301/.182, .545/.077) while Bethel won sets two and four outhitting Tech .122 to .022 and .293 to .209.
The difference maker was the fifth game as the Warriors dominated in all phases of the game and jumped out to a quick 3-1 lead, never looking back to win the set and the match with a 15-9 victory.
Katelyn St. Martin and
Suzanne Taylor carried the Warriors in the final game, each tallying three kills on four attempts. St. Martin finished the match with a team-high 18 kills while Taylor added 16 and
Stacy Nagy tallied 10. Nagy led Tech with a .389 attack percentage with Taylor at .255 and St. Martin hitting .236.
Kelsey Fitzpatrick led the team with 32 assists while
Alexandra Roberts added 21.
St. Martin was also a big part of the Orange and Black defense, leading the squad with 24 digs, while
Taylor Kelso added 17.
Arrianna Cumberledge and Fitzpatrick each tallied 11. The Warriors also tallied nine blocks.

Tech won their second match of the day over St. Ambrose, defeating the Queen Bees (10-13) in straight sets, 3-0 (25-20, 25-10, 25-14).
The Warriors dominated the Queen Bees in all three games, hitting .237 in the first game, their lowest of the match, while hitting .429 in set two and .405 in the third game in route to finishing the match with their highest attack percentage of the season, .355 (50-11-110).
Chrstine Foest, a member of the All-Tournament team, led the Orange and Black with a career-best .737 attack percentage and 14 kills. She also tallied three assists, four digs and a solo and assist block. St. Martin, Taylor and Nagy each tallied 10 kills with Nagy hitting .444 and St. Martin hitting .375. Fitzpatrick collected 31 assists while Roberts added 11.
Kelso led the defense with 22 digs and the team tallied six blocks in the match.
The Warriors return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. when they host the Saints of Siena Heights in their annual Dig Pink game to raise awareness and support for breast cancer.
